What is a yellow diamond? A yellow diamond is a naturally coloured (or lab grown) diamond with a yellow body colour. They're real diamonds, with identical sparkle, brilliance and grade to white diamonds — they just come in colour. Natural yellow diamonds get their colour from trace nitrogen during their formation; lab grown yellow diamonds are made through the same nitrogen-based process in a lab.

What shade of yellow can I choose? Every shade. Yellow diamonds run from soft, barely-there champagne through to bright lemon, warm sun and vivid canary. We'll source your eternity band in the shade that suits you — subtle for understated, intense for full-volume statement, anywhere in between for somewhere in between.

What is a canary diamond? Canary is the term for the most vivid, saturated yellow diamonds — bright, electric yellow with high colour intensity. The most desirable colour grade in fancy yellow diamonds, and the most striking against any metal.

Are yellow diamonds rare? Natural yellow diamonds are significantly rarer than colourless ones — only around 1 in 10,000 natural diamonds has a noticeable yellow tint, and vivid canaries are rarer still. Lab grown yellow diamonds offer the same colour and chemical composition at a more accessible price point.

What's the difference between natural and lab grown yellow diamonds? Both are real diamonds with identical optical, chemical and physical properties. Natural yellow diamonds form over millions of years deep within the earth and are exceptionally rare. Lab grown are created in a controlled laboratory environment in a matter of weeks. Visually they're indistinguishable.

Will a yellow diamond eternity band match my engagement ring? Beautifully — the warmth of yellow diamonds adds contrast and personality to a stack of white diamonds, drawing the eye and signalling individuality. They pair particularly well with yellow gold engagement rings (echoing the metal) and with white gold or platinum engagement rings (where the colour contrast is striking).

What's the difference between half and full eternity? A half eternity has diamonds across the front of the ring only. A full eternity has diamonds set continuously around the entire band. Half eternity is more comfortable, easier to resize, and slightly more affordable. Full eternity reads more luxurious and is the original symbolic form.
